The heartbreaking news was announced by Makokha's close friend and fellow actor, Ondiek Nyuka Kwota. Known for his memorable role on Vioja Mahakamani, Kwota took to Facebook to share the sad news and pay tribute to Wambui. "It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the Demise of Purity Wambui, beloved wife to Makokha•Makacha Aka "Babyface" Of Vioja Mahakamani On KBC Channel 1 TV," Kwota wrote.

In his heartfelt message, Kwota described Purity Wambui as a warm-hearted and kind woman whose positive spirit touched many lives. He wrote, “She was a remarkable woman who touched many lives with her kindness and warmth,” wrote Kwota, adding, “Makacha And his family are deeply grateful for your love and support during this incredibly difficult Season.”

The outpouring of love and support from fans and fellow actors has been overwhelming. Makokha, who has earned the affectionate nickname "Babyface" from his long-standing role on Vioja Mahakamani, expressed his gratitude for the messages of condolences and support he has received during this challenging time.

He said, "I am deeply touched by the love and support from all our friends, fans, and colleagues. Purity was my rock, and her memory will forever be a source of strength and inspiration for me. Thank you all for standing with us."
