Faith Kemunto 20, was set to join Machakos University to pursue a degree course in Fashion Design.

Her Nyamonuri village, Bomwagamo Ward in Nyamira's North Mugrango was readying for her University Education.

The deceased's parents Charles Nyaingo and Grace Nyaingo say their children had been brought up well an their last born child, now deceased was a calm and bright girl.

Last year Kemunto sat for her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations from Nyamusi Girls and managed to score a University Grade.

All that remains behind is shopping that had been done by the parents as they prepared their daughter for higher learning. A sweet case, several pairs of shoes is all they are staring in their three bedroomed house.

The mother says that on the fateful day her daughter walked out of the compound in the evening but by 7.15 pm she had returned home.

The mother says she had warned against her leaving the compound but instead she told her daughter to get back home early enough.

"I called her but her phone was off. My daughter could call her boyfriend using my phone. I checked on the number and called the said boyfriend, the number was off too."

She later called on her other daughter who stays in Nairobi and whose house Faith had been staying in previously. She too was not aware of her sister's whereabouts.

The alleged boyfriend's home in Mausi village in the same Counstituency is approximately four kilometers away from the deceased's home.

Kemunto's father says they recovered the deceased's clothes at the scene of the alleged shallow grave.

"We received a message from Kemunto's alleged boyfriend of where my daughter was allegedly killed and buried."

As the family awaits exhumation exercise, detectives from the DCI homicide unit have since arrested the suspect; Gideon Makori.

The suspect was arrested from Huruma area in Nairobi before he was escorted to  Ekerenyo Police station in Nyamira County.

Denis Marube, an inlaw to the deceased said the incident was a shock not only to the family but the entire village.

"This a serious criminal activity. No parent should undergo such an ordeal."
