A woman known only as Shaz, a Luo lady claiming to be one of a Gusii senator’s baby mamas, has gone viral with an emotional video accusing the Gusii senator of neglecting his children and failing in his parental duties.
Her explosive claims surfaced just days after the senator proudly declared himself a polygamist with 12 children and announced plans to introduce all his wives and children at his late mother’s funeral. In the widely circulated video, Shaz emotionally declared that the senator’s “kazi yake ni kupeana mimba na kutoroka” — his job is to impregnate women and disappear.
She alleged that despite his public boasts about fathering 12 children, the Gusii senator provides little to no financial or emotional support for many of them. She claimed he does not know basic details about the children’s lives, such as where they live, what they eat, their birthdays, what they wear, or how they survive on a daily basis. According to Shaz, he has failed to pay school fees and other essential needs, leaving several mothers to struggle alone while he continues enjoying life and seeking more partners.
She directly challenged his planned family introduction at the upcoming funeral, saying: “No point you were not present when I needed you most. Why would you be present to stand in front of the whole world and make you look like a good man when, in reality, you are not?” Shaz firmly stated that she will not attend the burial ceremony of the senator’s mother. She also suggested that the senator may have more than 12 children across different women.
The story has ignited heated debates across Kenyan social media platforms about parental responsibility, the realities of polygamy, and accountability for public figures. While some users support Shaz’s call for accountability, others have questioned the timing of the accusations or criticized the woman involved.
The Gusii senator has not issued a detailed public response to these specific accusations from Shaz and the other women. The claims remain unverified allegations from the women involved and have not been tested in court.
