Ruto Announces 16,000 New Teacher Jobs, Orders TSC Transition.

President William Ruto directed the transition of 10 BOM teachers at Kapsabet Girls to TSC and announced plans to hire 16,000 more teachers nationwide

Speaking during an event at the institution, the President also revealed that the government plans to hire an additional 16,000 teachers to address the existing staffing gap across the country.

President William Ruto has directed Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba to transition 10 teachers at Kapsabet Girls High School from the Board of Management (BOM) payroll to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), in a move aimed at strengthening staffing in the school.

“We still have to hire another sixteen thousand teachers to fill the gap that existed and we are going to factor that in the budget of next year so that we can hire more teachers and make sure that all our learners have access to quality, relevant learning,” President Ruto said.

At the same time, Education CS Julius Ogamba warned that school principals who fail to register students for national examinations due to fee arrears will face administrative action, stressing that no learner should miss exams because of financial challenges.

The event also featured a notable moment when the school Headgirl, Kwamboka Ombongi, delivered a confident address before the President, expressing optimism that the government would honor its pledges to the education sector.

“I believe that the promises you have told us here you are going to fulfill them. I am confident enough,” Ombongi said in her remarks.

In a lighter moment, President Ruto later pledged KSh1 million to the students and teachers of Kapsabet Girls High School to support the purchase of bread, drawing cheers from the gathering
