The 32-year-old sleuth was fatally shot while on duty in the Cravers area of Thika Town.
In a heartfelt press statement issued by the Office of the Inspector General, it was revealed that Constable Ithai was shot by a criminal during a police operation and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.Β
His family has been notified of this heartbreaking news and is receiving support during this difficult time.
In response to this tragic incident, the police force has launched a swift investigation, collaborating with the community to track down the perpetrator responsible for this senseless act of violence.
"We offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Constable Ithai and want to assure them that we stand with them in solidarity during this time of immense grief," NPS stated.
The NPS also expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation and urged anyone with information to come forward. They emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining safety and security, urging individuals to report any relevant details to the authorities through various channels.
