Busia Referral Hospital is once again under the microscope after Moses Dismus  Oduor, a high school teacher, lost his life in a suspected case of negligence.

Family and eyewitnesses labeled the incident a case of pure medical negligence.

On his way to pick up his wife, Dismus Moses Oduor was involved in a fatal road accident and was rushed to Busia Referral Hospital.

He had early on been rushed to Sio Port sub-county hospital unconscious.

The family says it took two full days for his CT scan to be reviewed by a radiologist. The review was done on Saturday.

The medical report was still unavailable by Monday midday with the medical staff blaming the absence of the hospital radiologist.

Doctor Emukue Namudala later released the report after pressure from relatives. The report stated that the deceased was in critical condition and was in need of immediate ICU admission and care.

The needed transfer took a 150 minute hold before any proper attention was given due to lack of an ambulance and long system delays.

His condition was already worse by 8pm when he was admitted at Life Care Hospital and rushed to ICU where he passed away shortly.
