NYAMIRA MOTHER BATTLING RARE SKIN DISEASE SEEKS HELP FOR TREATMENT AND CHILDREN’S SCHOOL FEES

51-year-old Consolata Momanyi from Nyageita, Kiabonyoru Ward in Borabu, Nyamira County, is appealing for help to educate her children and to seek treatment for a rare skin disease that has left her unable to work and support her family.

Consolata explains that her illness began with severe itching all over her body—on her hands, face, head, legs, and the entire body. She visited a nearby hospital and was given medication, but the condition persisted. It became so painful that even washing clothes was difficult, as her skin was cracking and peeling off. The doctor advised her to use Vaseline and liquid paraffin.

She also shared that she has three children, all of whom are in school, but she is unable to raise their school fees because of the disease. She has now come out publicly to ask people of goodwill for financial assistance to support her family.

In particular, she is seeking help for one of her children, a second-year university student who has a fee balance of Ksh 48,000.

Her family has been supported by Kebirigo Parish Catholic Church under the help of the parish priest, Rev. Fr. James Obaigwa. The priest has also appealed to the public to come to the aid of the family due to the hardships they are facing.

He explained the Church’s teaching on fasting, urging Christians to give to the needy as the early Church did, and asked people to come to the rescue of the family. He emphasized that Consolata is seeking help not only for her children’s education but also for treatment of her skin condition.
