The family of the late Justin Nyang’au Ondieki from Nyang’eni, Birongo Ward, is breathing a sigh of relief and renewed hope after aspiring MP Okeng’o Nyambane stepped in to clear school fees for their Grade 10 daughter, who had been on the brink of dropping out.
What was once a story of struggle and uncertainty has now turned into one of renewed determination, as the family says the intervention has given their daughter a second chance to pursue her education and rebuild the family’s hope for the future.
Her mother, Divinah Moraa, shared the painful memory of losing her husband, explaining that he suffered a stroke while returning from work and was later pronounced dead, leaving the family in deep financial hardship as he was the sole breadwinner. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to Nyambane for not only offering support but also taking time to visit their village during their moment of need.
The brother of the late Justin also commended the gesture, noting that many leaders often make promises that remain unfulfilled. He urged Nyambane to continue extending support, including assistance for another child currently in university, saying the family remains in need of long-term help.
Another relative described the late Justin as a visionary man who had big plans for his family, even beginning construction of a house before his sudden illness and passing, a dream now left unfinished.
The family has since encouraged their daughter to remain focused and work hard in her studies, hoping she will rise above their struggles and become a pillar of support for the family in the future.
