BOMACHOGE CHACHE IN MOURNING AS RESIDENTS CELEBRATE THE LEGACY OF PIONEER LEADER ELIMEREK NCHAGA NYATIGO

Residents of Kimai, Bomachoge Chache, are mourning the passing of a veteran leader, Elimerek Nchaga Nyatigo, Ritongo Chief and the first councillor of the larger Bomachoge Chache. They remember his legacy and say he was one of the best leaders they ever had, and it is painful to lose a leader of his calibre. He was also the first leader to bring development to Bomachoge. Elimerek served as a leader from 1979 to 1983.

Zachary Onduso, Director of the Olympic Group of Schools, mourned him and said that Nchaga Nyatigo was a good person and that they have lost a great soul. He said Nchaga took good care of the community, and though it hurts, they pray that he rests in peace.

One of the mourners said Nchaga was a good politician from the time he joined politics. He noted that during the time Nchaga was vying for office, many others wanted the same seat, but he won because he was the best candidate. “He had a small table as his symbol, which he carried everywhere he went, especially to political meetings, and I was the one who was carring it for him,” he added.

Another mourner described Nchaga as a good and humble leader who was respectful. Residents at large appreciate the work he did while he was alive and say he worked tirelessly for the people. They also thank everyone who came to mourn with them and comfort them.

May he rest in eternal peace, for he was a great man indeed.
