House-girl kills employer buries her body in shallow grave

She did not only kill her employeer but proceeded and buried her body in a shallow grave. 

With the assistance of public health officers, the decomposing body was exhumed with pieces of clothes tightly wrapped around the victim’s neck.

Currently under police custody, Mary Chebet is believed to have killed her female employeer Jane Wambui and buried the body within the compound.

 
Yestdary, Naivasha Sub-County detectives apprehended Chebet who is the prime suspect in the brutal murder in the incident. 

The arrest follows reports received from the husband of the deceased, a resident of the Karai area in Naivasha, that his wife, who works at Naivasha Sub-County Hospital, went missing on 4 July 2025, after leaving her workplace en route home.

"Investigations were launched, and detectives zeroed in on Chebet as the prime suspect. Under interrogation, she led the officers to the victim’s home in Karai, where she revealed the horrifying scene, her employer’s body buried in a shallow grave behind the house," a police report says. 

Chebet is currently in custody as detectives finalise investigations ahead of her arraignment.
