Kalonzo's Party rebrands as Jubilee shakes up it's leadership

Kalonzo Musyoka's political party, previously known as the Wiper Democratic Movement, has officially changed its name.

The party will have a new name; Wiper Patriotic Front . This change was announced via a Kenya Gazette notice published by the Registrar of Political Parties.

During a tour to Ukambani last Friday, Musyoka explained that the rebranding aims to revitalize the party by actively involving the youth. 

"The party now has a new face Wiper is going national. The new name will be Wiper Patriotic Front so that our Gen Z are fully included," Kalonzo stated in Emali, Makueni County. 

He encouraged young people to join the party, noting that the new name reflects the patriotic spirit shown by Gen-Z during the 2024 anti-Finance Bill protests.

The Jubilee Party has also restructured its leadership, introducing new individuals to key roles. 

This reorganization resolves years of internal disputes, which included a court case filed by a faction aligned with former President Uhuru Kenyatta to prevent his removal as party leader.

Despite the changes, Kenyatta remains the party leader. Other leaders who retained their positions include Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni, Deputy National Chairperson David Murathe, and National Chair for the League of Persons with Disabilities Wanja Maina.

Several new faces have joined the party's leadership. Beatrice Gambo is now the Deputy Party Leader , replacing Jimmy Angwenyi. Joseph Manje has taken over as Deputy Party Leader from Naomi Shabaan. Yassin Noor has replaced Joshua Kutuny as Deputy SG, and Pauline Njoroge is now the Deputy National Organizing Secretary, a position previously held by Mutava Musyimi.

Former Kieni legislator Kanini Kega, who served as the party’s National Director of Elections, was also removed, with his replacement yet to be officially gazetted by the party.
