Maraga,s urgent plea ; "Kenya is crumbling"
Citing a complete breakdown of the rule of law, rampant police killings, and deeply rooted impunity, Maraga declared; "We can't let a few people take Kenya to the dogs."

Former Chief Justice David Maraga has thrown his hat into the ring for the 2027 presidential race, delivering a scathing indictment of Kenya's current state.
Citing a complete breakdown of the rule of law, rampant police killings, and deeply rooted impunity, Maraga declared; "We can't let a few people take Kenya to the dogs."
His announcement comes amidst public fury over the death of teacher and blogger Albert Ojwang in police custody.
He vowed to join the nationwide protests planned for June 25, emphasizing; "To see our young people handled the way they have been is worrying."
Maraga didn't mince his words, describing police brutality as "heartbreaking" and a reflection of dangerous impunity.
He pledged to initiate private prosecutions against top police officials, including Inspector General Douglas Kanja, if no legal action is taken by June 30, accusing them of a "coordinated cover-up" in the Ojwang case.
A Maraga presidency, he stated, would be built on constitutionalism and respect for the law. "I will lead by obeying the law myself. Without that, we will lose our country."
He also challenged ethnicity-based politics, suggesting he'd crowdfund his campaign to bypass entrenched interests.
Acknowledging the powerful forces he'll face, Maraga expressed confidence in the public's support.
"I trust Kenyans. If they have confidence in me, we can defeat those forces," he concluded, setting the stage for a potentially transformative election.
