Gusii community urged to embrace unity

Kitutu Central Ward politcian, Joshua Obegi, is calling on the people of Kisii County to set aside their differences and embrace a unified opinion as community.

Speaking at a church service in the Kiamwasi region, Obegi stressed that communal cohesion is crucial for future progress.

"My plea is for our community to come together as people of Gusii region because if we don't unite, it will be hard for us to proceed to do the work ahead of us," Obegi asserted. His message resonates as the region looks towards the 2027 general elections.

Obegi particularly appealed to the youth, acknowledging their widespread disapointment with current leadership. He urged them to take an active role in shaping the future by registering as voters and participating in the upcoming elections.

"As the youth who are mostly disappointed at the current leadership, they should come forward and register themselves as voters ahead of the 2027 elections and show up in order to choose new and leaders who can be held into account," he advised. This emphasis on youth participation highlights the critical role they can play in demanding accountability from their elected officials.

Obegi also touched on the responsibility of leaders to support community initiatives and faith-based endeavors. "We have reached here as leaders and as a leader of Kitutu Central Ward to support God's work," he stated. His remarks underscored a dual commitment to both spiritual and civic advancement within the community.
