Advancing Gender Equality in Law Enforcement

The Director Forensic at DCI Headquarters has reaffirmed the National Police Service's commitment to transformative initiatives that promote gender equality in law enforcement.

"It has become a urgent need to institutionalize gender equality within law enforcement across Eastern Africa, where women continues to encounter systematic barriers in policing and security," emphasizes Rosemary Kuraru.

The stakeholders involved in empowering every badge initiative were gathered at the EAPCCO gender manual validation meeting which aims to engage participants through collaborative effort and capacity -building activity in law enforcement.

“By integrating gender -sensitive strategies into our operations, we enhance our effectiveness in combating crime while ensuring that the voice and needs of all community members are represented and heard," said IG Douglas Kanja.

The inspector General further extended his application to the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany,

UNODC, UN Women, and EAPCCO for their invaluable support of the empowering every budge initiative.
