President William Ruto has hit back at growing opposition calls demanding his resignation, questioning the usefulness of the “Ruto must go” slogan.
During a Sunday church service in Lugari, Kakamega County on Sunday, the President urged all leaders to focus on uniting the Country and addressing key national issues.
Ruto argued that many of those criticizing his leadership have no concrete plan for the country’s future.
"Hawa watu wengine hawana mpango "these people don't have a plan for this Country. We cannot hand over to people hawana mpango; (they are people who lack a a plan). Ati mpango yao ni (their only plan is) Ruto must go, must go itakusaidia na nini? (What will it help you with)" Ruto said.
He calls on leaders across the political divide to prioritize unity and focus on tangible issues affecting Kenyans, such as unemployment, agriculture, education, and the economy.
The President emphasized his administration's commitment to job creation for the youth, strengthening the agriculture sector, and ensuring affordable healthcare and quality education.
His comments come against the backdrop of rising political temperatures and growing pressure from opposition figures who have vowed to push for a one-term presidency for Ruto.
