A family in Monyerero, Marani in Kisii county, is seeking justice for their kin who was beaten to death at a neighbour's home.

According to our sources, Doujlas Ojwang' Momanyi was allegedly tied to a tree and beaten thoroughly by a mob who later left him to succumb to injuries.

Susan Ojwang', wife to the deceased, narrates how the family waited for hime to come back home in the evening, but he never showed up.

"He is the one who normally milks our cow, but yesterday, he didn't get home early as usual. I had to the task myself as my elder son helped in preparing a meal."

"We retired to bed early without my husband. At around 10:00pm, my mother-in-law woke us up saying some people were screaming from the neighborhood got information that a man has been beaten badly and we went to confirm, only to find my husband tied to a guava tree, bleeding helplessly," she said weeping.

According to the wife, they were told that Douglas had messed up with the neighbours thus the punishment.

In a short clip, live Douglas is seen tied to a tree as the people around shouted at him saying he hasn't had enough of the beating as he seamless helpless, a incident that has aroused reactions among residents of Marani.

Douglas' mother said that her son had never been involved in any illegal activities and that the allegations that he had injured someone in the neighbourhood were not true at all.

According to a postmortem report from Marani Sub-County hospital, Douglas succumbed to severe injuries form most parts of the country.

The family has said no step has been taken and that the issue has not received the attention it deserves from those responsible.

Marani Sub-county Commander John Kimutai confirmed the incident saying the case has been filed and the process of arresting all the suspects is ongoing, only that some of them are on the run.

Residents of the area are condemning the incident as the family pleads for justice.
