MP Zaheer Jhanda Condemns Marikiti Market Fire, Calls for Swift Action

Nyaribari Chache Member of Parliament, Hon. Zaheer Jhanda, has voiced his deep concern and disappointment over the catastrophic fire that devastated the Marikiti market in Kisii town, leaving destruction and hardship in its wake.
The blaze, which ignited in the early hours of the morning, completely destroyed the bustling marketplace, significantly impacting the livelihoods of numerous traders.
In a press statement issued this morning, MP Jhanda expressed his sympathy for the residents of Kisii town who suffered losses due to this unfortunate incident.
Β "I extend my heartfelt sympathies to the people of Kisii Town who have lost their livelihoods in this tragic event that has damaged and destroyed many shops, stalls, and stores," he remarked.
The MP has made a passionate appeal for action, urging Kisii County Commissioner Mr. Joseph Kibet and his security team to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
"I am making a clarion call to the Kisii County Commissioner, Mr. Joseph Kibet, and his entire security team to carry out comprehensive investigations and ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended and charged without delay," he stressed.
Although he is currently abroad on official duties, MP Jhanda has sent his team to the site to provide necessary assistance. Upon his return, he intends to work closely with the victims to offer support and help them rebuild their lives.
"While I am out of the country for official duties, I have dispatched my team to be present at the scene and provide essential support. As soon as I return, I will coordinate with the victims to offer assistance that will help them get back on their feet," he stated.
