Police spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga reported that 11 people died, 52 police officers and 11 civilians injured, and 567 arrests made nationwide during the 35 Saba Saba protests.

The protests also resulted in significant property damage, with 12 police vehicles, 3 government vehicles, and 4 civilian vehicles being damaged.

NPS commended law-abiding Kenyans for maintaining peace, while noting that some groups engaged in "acts of lawlessness," including attacks on officers and looting. The service added that all incidents would be investigated further and praised its officers for their "exceptional restraint and professionalism."

These protests, commemorating the 35th anniversary of Kenya's pro-democracy Saba Saba movement, disrupted normal life in several areas. Police barricades blocked major roads and access points, especially in Nairobi, restricting movement and access to essential services.

Many businesses in various counties remained closed due to fears of looting, with at least six counties confirming such incidents.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen stated that those responsible for the disruptions would be investigated and prosecuted, similar to actions taken after previous violent protests. He also commended the police for their "commendable and necessary" performance in ensuring public safety.

By 6:30 p.m., the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights had independently documented 10 deaths, 29 injuries, 2 abductions, and 37 arrests across 17 counties.
