Senator Okenyuri: My award is a celebration of integrity and public trust

Nominated Senator Essy Okenyuri is among top National, Civic Sector and County Awardees recognised for impactful leadership and commitment to service delivery.

Ms Okenyuri had been nominated alonsgide other 10 leaders in the best perfoming Nominated Senators category.

"I am honoured to have been crowned as the best Nominated Legislator by the Bobea Leadership Awards. From the Senate committees to the floor of the Senate to this moment,this recognition reminds me that impact is the true legacy."

The first time Nominated Senator says the award is a celebration of integrity, public trust and dedication;three she belives are ingredients that are key in achieving effective leadership.

"I receive this crown with a lot of humility and it will definitely not be the last. I am encouraged to continue fulfilling my mandate as Nominated Senator powered by endless selflessness."

Ms Okenyeru has vowed to undertake to continue  revolutionizing the community through programmes under the Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation.

The Foundation is a charitable organization established in 2023 and fully registered by the Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Board in 2024. 

The foundation collaborates with individuals, families, communities, philanthropists and other relevant stakeholders including learning institutions, community – based organizations such as women groups, men associations, youth and religious groups to improve capacity for sustainable development.

"I thank all of you who have  been supporting me in my leadership journey,I am forever indebted. What a great honour, what a recognition," says the 33 year old Senator.

The recognation followed a rigorous national voting and nomination process that identified top performers in politics, governance, and public administration.

Key categories include best-performing governors, senators, male MPs, political analysts, County Executive Committee Members (CECMs), and special recognition awards. 

Nominated Senator Crystal Asige received the honorary Most Outstanding Legislature Award. Best-performing senator went to Edwin Sifuna of Nairobi county, with Boni Khalwale of Kakamega taking second place.
