Geoffrey Isoe (Taabu) was allegedly beaten by a mob in Ikorora village Kisii South on Monday evening.
A total orphan, Isoe was left behind by his parents aged one years and has been under the care of his relatives.
The body of the late 24 year old casual worker was found dumped in his house after he was allegedly beaten by a gang calling itself GenZ.
An aunt to the deceased said the deceased was killed as his uncles watched. “They claim that there is nothing they could have done to rescue him from the dead. Our worry is why they never reported the incident to police.”
The late is said to have been cornered by his cousin and a group of young men who tied him using ropes before beating him to a pulp.
His cousin said Isoe ‘s killing must have been instigated form within the family. “They should have reported the matter to the police or local administration if indeed they had enough evidence to show that my brother had been involved in some criminal activities.”
He said; “Killing him and dumping his body in the house is clear sign of wanting to conceal evidence of the heinous act. Investigations must be conducted; his killers must face the law to deter other individuals from taking the law into their hands.”
The uncles who spoke o Getembe TV Digital claim they only came in to rescue the deceased after he had been beaten by the known individuals.
One of the uncles said he carried the deceased to the house as the rains were fast approaching.
Without being remorseful, the uncle said; “I don’t know whether he was dead or alive. We moved him to the house and only to be told this morning that he had died.”
However, villagers have raised suspicion on the part played by the two uncles with one of the deceased’s friend suspecting foul play from the family.
“There is no way you can watch as your son is being killed. In the morning the same uncles didn’t want to report to police. They called in a private car to retrieve he body from the scene.”
