Ex-Governor Ongwae mourns death of his long time private aide

Former Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has led in tributes following the death of his long time private aide, Peter Osugo.

Osugo served with unwavering loyalty and dedication throughout Ongwae’s two terms in office, earning respect and admiration from colleagues, leaders, and the public alike. 

The late Osugo is said to have passed away earlier this week.

In a heartfelt message, the former governor describes Osugo as disciplined, courageous, full of integrity, and always respectful.

Ongwae notes that Osugo was more than just a security officer. "He was a trusted companion and part of the extended family; affectionately known to many as “Daddy.”

The former governor extendes his deepest condolences to Osugo’s family,his wife, children, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. He also extendes his condolences to the community that worked with Osugo.

"To all the workers of Kisii County who worked with Osugo and to the people of Nyansongo receive my heartfelt condolences. I pray that God comforts you during this hard times and may God bless you."

Osugo leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, integrity, and selfless service a legacy that will live on in the hearts of those he protected and those who knew him well.
