Grieving family seeks help to cover late daughters medical expenses

A grieving family in Nyansira-Birongo village is appealing to well-wishers and the public for support in raising funds to clear a hospital bill following the untimely death of their 27-year-old daughter, Joyce Moraa.

Joyce fell ill earlier in June and was rushed to the hospital where she was diagnosed with several complications, including kidney problems. 

"Joyce started complaining about having issues with her eyes, that's when we took her to hospital in and she was admitted for two days. We were told to look for another hospital equiped with dialysis machines. All private hospitals wanted us to pay in cash," said a family member.

Despite efforts to save her, including a blood transfusion, she sadly passed away shortly after. 

Her body has since remained in the mortuary for nearly a month, as the family is unable to raise the Sh. 500,000 needed to clear the hospital bill.

Her parents, John Motuka and Dina Sorobi both of whom are deaf and mute are in deep distress, not only from the loss of their daughter but also from the heavy financial burden left behind.

 Alongside their other children, the family says the bill has brought their lives to a standstill and severely affected their daily activities.

The family is pleading with anyone and kind-hearted individuals to come to their aid during this difficult time.
