Residents in shock after slain man found in a river

Residents were left in shock after Hussein Ong’oyi who allegedly went missing for a week was discovered dead in a river with serious head injuries at Nyangori area in Gachuba Ward , Nyamira county.

His body was discovered two days after the area Chief held a community gathering in an attempt to look for a way of tracing him .

According to his family , his disappearance raised alarm and an endless search.

“We have been looking for him together with other villagers since his disappearance but our efforts seemed unfruitful. He was killed and his body dumped .Hussein was a good person and we lived peacefully.”

The residents urged the lawmakers to raid over illicit brewing which is the root cause of the endless crimes in the area .

“We are urging the area chief together with police officers to carry out thorough raids over illicit brew and strengthen security in Gachuba ward. It's because illicit brews are rampant in this area , crime rates have increased rapidly,” one of the residents narrated.

The deceased was living with his children after his wife vacated due to alleged gender based violence.
